Techfest connects the Northern Coastal Region

On the morning of 15 April, at the Sheraton Hai Phong, Techfest Connecting the Northern Coastal Region (International Techfest Connect 5+) 2024 opened.

The event is part of the 2024 programme of startup support activities organised by the Centre for Science, Technology and Innovation Development (ISC). It also carries out the task of "supporting local capacity in building innovative startup ecosystems" under the Ministry of Science and Technology's national innovation startup ecosystem support scheme through 2025. Leaders of the Agency for Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises (Ministry of Science and Technology), the city's Department of Science and Technology, the government of Cheongju city and Chungbuk Technopark cut the ribbon to open the event

International Techfest Connect 5+ was held to encourage an open innovation ecosystem, so that businesses in the Northern Coastal Region can work more effectively by drawing on outside resources to renew, update and coordinate technology, reduce research costs, solve business problems and restructure themselves. The event showcased and demonstrated the products and technology solutions of innovative startups that fit the management and production needs of large companies; it connected investment, business and development partnerships for startups, and gave startup support organisations a place to share their experience of market development and open innovation. According to figures from the Agency for Market Development and Science and Technology Enterprises, Vietnam has around 3,800 startups, of which 11 are valued at over 100 million USD and 3 at over 1 billion USD. There are 208 venture funds active and investing in startups in Vietnam, nearly 40 of them domestic. [2]

At TECHFEST Hai Phong, TrueOrigin origin authentication with its dynamic digital signature technology demonstrated that Vietnamese intellectual property and technology can compete with advanced technologies worldwide.

Visitors to the TrueOrigin stand could try a sample seal for themselves: an NFC chip seal protected by a dynamic digital signature. The seal issuing machine was also on show, so visitors could see and understand the issuing process at first hand.

Alongside TrueOrigin origin authentication, other distinctive Onyx solutions and products were on display to try at the stand: iControl access control, the CyLock unhackable lock, and the SmartQMAN queue management system.

The mayor of Cheongju visited the stand. He was accompanied by a large delegation of Korean businesses looking to enter the Vietnamese market; the search for local distributors by Korean companies was one of the highlights of this year's Techfest.
